My favorite thing about this class was actually more than just one thing. I really enjoyed the weekly posts and being able to see what my colleagues had to say about each topic and question and being able to receive feedback from three different colleagues something I enjoyed. I thought the three different papers all provided different information and aspects on interpersonal communication and how human relationships vary from cultures, how they are in our own lives, and how they can be perceived in the media. I thought all three papers provided insight on how relationships develop and how through different relationships poses different challenges, as well as positive occurrences as well.
I do not have a least favorite thing about this class, however I believe this class can be improved by if one of the paper assignments could be a group project, or a partner effort or if we had an assignment that required collaboration with another colleague(s) because that way we could also use and develop the interpersonal communication skills from our class with our colleagues as well. That is the only thing I felt how this class can be improved, otherwise I like and enjoyed this class as it is.
little miss daisy,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comments for improvement. I think it would be interesting to do something like an observation of a couple people speaking to each other, or a group of people interacting to learn about communication, nonverbal communication, how well they listen and respond, and how they resolve conflict if there is any.
I liked the blogging. It made me feel connected to people in the class without really being connected physically. It added an element of excitement knowing I had people responding to my thoughts and I was eager to read their opinions.
Great post. Thanks for sharing.

Im with you both on the blogging. It definitely takes class interaction to a new level. But it’s the tech era, its only going to get more crazy as time goes on. Think of what D2L will look like in a decade. In any case the class was fun I enjoyed the responses of the classmates and the overviews of the chapters on Prof. Perez’s blog. Things were simple and straight forward. Which is kind of why I oppose your idea of group projects. There is lots on interaction among students already, do you really want more. Sorry, just had more than one bad group project experience.
ReplyDeleteHi Little Miss Daisy! I totally forgot about the papers! I also enjoyed how the papers allowed us to use concepts and analyze our own interpersonal communication in our every day and very real lives! Being able to read colleagues post is something I also enjoyed, I actually may not of done so if it wasn't enforced. I had not thought about group projects and i think that is a great idea! It will allow us to practice our interpersonal communication with our classmates, especially in a class that is ironically online and we can't really use those concepts to interact with each other in our classes.
